August in Motion
Welcome to Months in Motion - a monthly newsletter where we’ll look at some of our favourite projects, industry trends, emerging technologies, as well as studio updates from us. As the name suggests, we release these monthly, so subscribe and keep your eyes peeled for a new post at the end of each month! 👀
👉 AITHYRA - STUDIO Dumbar/DEPT
This month, Studio DUMBAR/DEPT launched a gorgeous new identity for AITHYRA, a new, cutting-edge research institute based at the Vienna BioCenter in Austria, dedicated to revolutionising biomedicine through the deep integration of AI in scientific research and discovery.
For a company whose mission is deeply rooted in innovation, Dumbar wanted to echo that in the branding by designing ‘a design language that is never static’.
The identity is built up from dots and dashes, which are used to create imagery, type, and more.
Dumbar’s team also created a custom tool for the AITHYRA team, allowing them to create their own new design assets built on the principles Dumbar created.
We always love a nice motion launch film, and, as always, the team at Dumbar delivered, accompanied by some beautiful sound design.
👉 Google Cloud - Vucko
For the fourth year running, Vucko partnered with Google Cloud to deliver a motion identity for their Next ‘25 event.
Vucko took the identity they had built from last year and evolved it, adding ‘more playfulness, humanity, and flexibility, ensuring each touchpoint is alive with energy and seamlessly adapted to its environment.’
The project features a bold mix of 2D and 3D assets with a bright, bold, yet soft colour palette.
The identity was deployed across multiple formats, including OOH, event displays, socials, web, and even the Sphere. (new dream project location for us!)
This huge identity project provided Google Cloud with guidelines on how motion is used across absolutely everything, helping to define a visual consistency at every touchpoint.
We love how this project seamlessly mixed an array of assets, colour palettes, and textures into one coherent identity.
How Taxi Studio Uses Motion to Build Cultural Brand Worlds | Months in Motion
How do you design a brand that moves with culture?
In this episode of Months in Motion, Jimmy Gordon sits down with Stu Tallis, Creative Director at Taxi Studio, to unpack the motion strategy behind FlowFest - the world’s biggest reggaeton festival - and how motion design brings brands to life emotionally, rhythmically, and globally.
Stu shares behind-the-scenes insights from work on Coca-Cola, YOLOH insurance, and his thoughts on what today’s brands are getting wrong about visual identity systems.

Studio Updates
We’re very excited to introduce two new additions to the studio this month and next as we expand our global team.
Firstly, we want to give a big warm welcome to our new motion designer, Andrew Ramirez.
Andrew is from Sao Paulo, Brazil, bringing over 7 years of experience in animation. Andrew’s background is in Graphic Design; he commands prowess in both motion and art direction, and we’re stoked to have him on board!
After closing out a busy few weeks on our last event project, we’re excited to be kicking off another event project, which will go live in November. Working closely alongside our friends at COLLAB, we’ll be developing a bold, unique set of visuals for a big event in London later this year.
Jimmy also celebrates his 1st year anniversary at the studio! We'll be heading to Paradigms again this year in Marrakech, one of their favourite events of the year. If you're going, make sure to give the team a shout!
