July in Motion
Welcome to Months in Motion - a monthly newsletter where we’ll look at some of our favourite projects, industry trends, emerging technologies, as well as studio updates from us. As the name suggests, we release these monthly, so subscribe and keep your eyes peeled for a new post at the end of each month! 👀
Favourite Projects
👉 Buck - Coinbase
This month, the team at BUCK unveiled their new ‘anthem film’ for Coinbase, a leading cryptocurrency exchange platform.
The film takes a unique approach by combining an array of different software, including Cavalry, After Effects, Houdini, and C4D, allowing the team to “turn grayscale animation inputs into procedural code.”
Similar to what we saw with the 2025 D&AD identity and the OpenAI Superbowl ad, BUCK’s film uses a combination of text and symbols to create imagery.
We were particularly interested in the case study for this project as our team has also been experimenting with Cavalry and data input in recent months - so it was great to see BUCK’s work using this tool.
👉 COLLINS - Muse
If you’ve followed any of our previous articles or podcasts, you’ll know that we’re huge suckers for anything that combines motion with music.
So when our friends at COLLINS released their latest brand work for Muse Group, we were instantly in love.
The COLLINS team took a visually disconnected set of sub-brands, including the well-known Audacity and Ultimate Guitar, and created a new, bold, consistent identity.
COLLINS also introduced a new purpose for its brand: “Inspire the artist. Unleash their sound.”
And unleash they did.
It feels like the perfect word to describe this fresh identity, particularly when looking at the new typeface and motion system. (Make sure your sound is on for this one!)
Using motion design that’s reactive to audio (we think this may be another clever use of Cavalry, though not confirmed), you can feel every note, even without the audio.
Why Motion Design Should Be Non-Negotiable – Hyperfocus | Months in Motion
This month, we are joined by Jan Stein and Paul Watmough-Halim, Founders of Hamburg-based design studio, Hyperfocus.
Hyperfocus has exploded in the past few years.
Despite only being around for 5 years, they are quickly making a name for themselves as one of the leading brand studios, with ECD Paul recently being touted as one of the Top 20 Most Inspiring Designers of 2025 by Creative Boom.
Motion is a big part of every branding project for their team. In this episode, we sit down with their founders to hear more about how they weave motion into their process.

Studio Updates
Our team is currently working on a graphics piece for a large company event out in Boston this August.
This also marks the beginning of an exciting new partnership for us moving forward. Another month meant another set of flights for Jimmy, as he headed over to London to catch up with a lot of old and new connections. Jack joined on several days, and the two had the opportunity to visit offices including VML, The Drum, and Sony PlayStation.

Due to demand, we have decided to start doing more than one podcast episode a month. Keep your eyes peeled in the coming weeks as we have Barrington Reeves from Too Gallus joining us for an episode that can be best described as a little different from our usual. Next month we have Stu Tallis, Creative Director and AI Lead from the renowned brand studio, Taxi Studio.
